Program for Canopus ADVC-100

Cam anyone tell me a program to capture video from my VCR and analog Camera thru my ADVC-100 ? I have Pinnacle Studio SE but are there any other that have more features ? Maybe from Canopus ? Also i would like to know why i cant record from my VCR ? Do i have to connect the firewire cable to the back of my ADVC-100 (I currently have connected it to the front panel )?

There are quite a few programs that will capture DV from the ADVC100 direct to hard disk. WinDV (which I use) is very comprehensive & free. iuVCR is trial software, but seems very capable indeed. There are a couple of others, but I found them mediocre. Do a search on the DV forum for "WinDV" or "MustardMan" where there is more info. The firewire cable can plug in either the front or back depending on what cable you have - it makes no difference to the functionality. You have to press the button to change to 'digital' input on the ADVC100, and of course connect the analog cables correctly!

I have try many softwares but the one that I like most are WinDVDRecorder, freeware.
