Loop packs and virtual-instrument packs

MessageAuthor

Hi, Are there any inexpensive yet rich, well-organized loop packs and virtual instrument packs that are known to work well with Reaper ? Are there some extensions, that for instance will change loop audio files to match target BPM and cleanly transpose to different scale ? By rich and well-organized, I mean where there is a good mix of genres, properly labelled, with each loop collection comprising of multiple melodies, fills, parts, drum patterns, different instrument layers, and labelled with key, BPM information ? Most importantly, the samples in the loop pack, should all align on measure boundaries, and loop cleanly / seamlessly. cheers, BD

bro you are a couple more requests away from purchasing a completed song. i would highly recommned doing the reaper manual cover to cover. but seriously, the project settings and the media explorer settings in Reaper go some way towards dictating how dropped loops behave. no key/ pitch matching alas, unless you learn how to use Reatune.

RE: Loop packs and virtual-instrument packs

I'm looking for something similar. I was considering trying Ableton out for something new and different, and shelling out some real money for the full Ableton suite. But the more I look into it and read up on Playtime, I'd rather stick with Reaper. But one of the draws to a DAW like Ableton is all the clips and sounds that you can play with right out of the box. I think the best solution might be to spend a few bucks (~$20) on Playtime to get the session view, and then grab some clips/loops and maybe a VST or two (free or paid). It would be great to know if there are some recommendations for packs out there that are well produced and organized.
