Mac to dump Digi?

I have heard a rumour in the streets of London that Mac are looking to dump Pro-tools as a mac anabled program. They apparently want to push MAC users toward Logic and Final cut pro instead of Pro-tools and AViD! Anyone else heard of such a thing. Will it mean that finally Digi will fix all the bugs in the PC based systems and make them outperform the MAC's!@@ Hope so............ OR am I being led up the Garden path.....

Sounds like totally unfounded rumor. Think about it - not giving access to development to Digi would mean that all those people with Mac based PT systems wouldn't be buying Macs, which would mean fewer sales for Apple. Not a smart move. As for PC side - what 'bugs' are you referring to? There are bugs on both sides, but with 6.1 both platforms are on pretty much equal footing and you should have no substantial problems given that you're running a tested and supported system.

Whoa there guys , you must think I have a hidden agenda here. I was only asking if anyone else had heard of this. I'm not trying to feul it. Besides , if Pro-tools became a product that was focused more around PC wouldn't that be good for us (presuming we are all PC users!) Yes its the programmers" who fix and make the bugs (of which there are many - just read the DUC forum!!!!) but if there were twice as many people working on them than that cant be bad. Also , there are many people who would stay with the OS rather than the softare , lets be honest , mac (Apple) owners love their mac and pc owners love their pc. I say focusing on one OS would not be a bad thing for Digidesgin and lets not forget how much they used to love Apple .... ONLY!!
