stalls at startup: "signing into OMS" ?

I'm running PT free on Mac OS 8.6 PowerPC. All of my extensions seem to be in order, but whenever I try starting up, the application stalls at the heading: "Setting up MIDI/Signing into OMS". Would anybody be willing to give this a shot? thanks a lot

Do you have OMS? Have you set it up? These may seem like stupid questions, but maybe not.

Did you install any of the demo plugins that came with PT Free? I had the same problem, I think it might be something to do with the plugin settings and the plugins not matching up, or the plugins having expired.
